Siemens mobility has been transforming rail in America by delivering seamless, sustainable, and reliable Buy-America transportation solutions to customers across the nation.

Siemens Mobility purchased a large retractable structure to cover train car shells during their construction process at their Sacramento, California facility.  They had been storing these train cars outdoors as they move them in one by one for their final assembly. 

 

This new retractable will not only protect the train cars from the high winds and other elements but stream line the assembly process for workers.

The unit measures 1500cm wide x 1400cm long x 500cm high at the eaves.  They are installed upon lift proof steel tracks with nylon wheels.  Due to the high traffic area Siemens opted to purchase custom yellow lift proof tracks to ensure safety for the many moving parts and equipment that function in the immediate area.

Siemens Global which have facilities in over 30 of the 50 European countries have been purchasing these units through our Italian partner Giulio Barbieri for over a decade with excellent success.  Therefore it made sense to utilize these unique structures in their North American facilities.
